We Provide Quality Experiences Every Day

CKLC works to ensure that your child has educational experiences every day. Our programs include reading, math, science, art, and music. We work to build your child’s social skills through emphasizing sharing, participation, self-help, and personal safety.

Through immersive learning experiences that are finely attuned to the age of your child, you can rely on us to provide your children with the opportunity develop their skills throughout a variety of educational and social areas. We have programs available for children 6 weeks to 12 years old.

Our Early Childhood Programs Include:

Thriving Infants:  6 weeks -12 months 

The infants will be nurtured in a loving environment to meet their basic needs such as security, trust, nutrition, stability, consistency emotional support and love. This environment will allow them to flourish through experiences that will give way to persistence and varying degrees of initiative, curiosity, sensory exploration and problem solving.
  • Care givers will have training in Safe Sleep and CPR
  • Walls within the classroom that are sound proof for sound control
  • Materials that will promote the senses with colors, shapes, and smells
  • Provide safe toys and experiences with a variety of colors, textures, sounds, shapes, and smells

Toddlers in Motion

Our classroom provides a nurturing environment rich in experiences and materials so that our toddlers can explore the world around them with their 5 senses. Through our programs. toddlers will explore and interact with materials that provide opportunities to develop and express individual ideas, feelings and interests. Through intentional planning the program will promote children’s participation in activities that require the development of self-help skills crucial to foster children’s independence. 

Sensory Experiences 

Children will be given experiences with different tactile materials to help promote play supporting language development, cognitive growth, motor skills, problem solving skills, and social interaction.

Language and Literacy 

Teachers will encourage the usage of language through resources to promote vocabulary throughout the day. Included in our program is the use of ASL, (American Sign Language) toddlers will learn simple gestures, commands, and requests for alternative communication.  

Nutrition

Nutrition will be taught through age appropriate cooking activities as well as receive balanced meals to promote healthy growth and development.

Physical Development

CKLC offers Indoor and outdoor equipment to promote physical movement, including climbing, hoping, walking, and running. Our teachers provide opportunities for a child to jump using a low play structure, tape on the floor, or jumping in and out of a hoop.  We also include activities that include imitating the movement of animals. (For example: hop like grasshoppers, frogs, rabbits or kangaroos). We will provide size- appropriate riding toys with and without pedals to use in a large, safe environment to offer free movement. We also have indoor activities, including gym time where the students make use of the alternative equipment that includes: indoor basketball hoops, push toys, large balls, parachute play, etc.

Social Development

Classroom activities will promote social skills, sharing, patience, and self-awareness. Toddlers will begin to learn the names of their peers, become conscious of the objects around them and they gain knowledge of others’ belongings. Toddlers at this age become reliant on consistency, routines and they are comfortable with repetition, which is vital to natural development. Our teachers strive to enhance and sharpen the skills needed to promote independence and acceptable interactions with their classmates. 

Music Movement

Play a variety of music demonstrating body movements the child can imitate or move freely to the music.  

Nutrition

Nutrition will be taught through a variety of creative cooking activities intended to promote healthy eating habits and introduce children to fun fruits and vegetables. 

Pre- Kindergarten Program

Pre-kindergarteners are eager to explore and learn about the world and have a natural affinity for language. At this stage your pre-kindergartner is starting to think logically and is able to express their thoughts, as well learn through hands on experience. Our program offers a curriculum that allows your child to use critical thinking skills, as well as using their imagination and discover new concepts academically with confidence

Early Learning Domains
Approaches to learning- Every child has a different learning style, CKLC curriculum provides teachers with tools and guidance to accommodate to each child’s learning style to fully support each child’s learning ability and problem solving skills.

Science and Engineering
 Science builds our knowledge and understanding of the world, science allows a child generate ideas, make decisions and observe the world allow them. In our pre-kindergarten curriculum, we allow the students to develop knowledge through hands on experience with real animals, pants, and STEM. ( Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics ) 

Language and Literacy 
 The early years are critical for literacy development, your child will have opportunity to developed language skills through a quality of children’s literature, shared writing, language experience and theme based writing centers.

Creative Arts
 Visual and creative arts that stimulate and creative thinking in our pre-kindergarten program  will help your your child develop creative skills by engaging in activities that include play dough, sand, water, dramatic play, art, and music.

Social Studies
Our program offers an integrated curriculum using civics, geography, history, and economics. Your child will be provided with opportunity to learn through resource people, learning centers, group lead projects and field trips.

Math
Early experiences with math help children develop reasoning skills, problem solving and development in practical situations. Your child will have the opportunity to learn through hands on experience.

Physical Development
Young children need the opportunity to develop large and small motor skills. Our program allows your child to developed those skills through indoor and outdoor activities and games for the benefit of personal fitness and well being.

Social and Emotional
Young learner’s social-emotional skills motivates them to use critical thinking skills, communication skills, resolve conflict and how to self regulate emotions. Our program allows your child to develop these skills with daily opportunities to allow your child to negotiate issues that occur, take turns and to be a friend, and managing their feelings in a socially acceptable manner.

Behavior Guidance 
Prevention and redirection are the primary techniques for guiding behavior. Management of behavior is based on an understanding of the child’s development, realistic expectations and appropriate methods to help the child develop his or her own self-control. 
Our teachers will support the child’s emerging self-regulation through the environment, daily routines, positive role modeling and assisting with the development of communication skills. 

Music
Infants through school-age will be exposed / introduced to live music and instruments. Our after school progam will receive music lessons as part of their activities.
